Custom 32" Pizza Peel Shaped Chalk Board - UPDATE

Here's a photo... one of the staff members made it a welcome paddle :)
We love it, and you can see that it's a real focal point of our restaurant!

Wow! I just got the pizza paddle yesterday and it's just AMAZING! I even took it to the pizza shop and hung it.... it's the perfect size for that wall! It was during our Friday dinner rush and the comments that came in were awesome! Thank you thank you thank you!

Most pizza peels are created to actually make pizza's, however this one is painted with a special chalk board paint and will be used as a  menu specials board.

As in all my peels this one is made out of local birch.  It measures in with a 32 inch round bottom and a two foot handle.  Typically the handle is made with a thicker board to help handle the weight of the larger pizza.  For this one being as it will be hung on the wall, I have made the entire board  3/8 inches thick.

Sign for New Glacier Institute Building

I had the privilege of creating this plaque to be placed in the new kitchen building that was being built at the field camp of the Glacier Institute in Glacier National Park.

(A portion of the Press release sent out by the Institute follows.)

The Glacier Institute Announces a Boy Scout Service Project in Glacier National Park

The project coined “Hands Across the Continent”, was inspired by a deep passion for nature and scouting. A former Scout leader has graciously donated funds to rebuild a dining hall/classroom for the Glacier Institute – and will supply the manpower as well. Construction begins in July when thirty Scouts, parents and leaders cross the country by bus for a service project in Glacier National Park – an endeavor that will benefit visitors for years.

Custom Interlocking Wedding Rings Cribbage Board

Using the interlocking wedding rings image somehow being incorporated in the design was the idea of this client from Minnesota. It all started with the below photo she shared with me. I took it from there and I think the end result came out well.  This board will be given as a wedding present to her new husband on their wedding day.

This custom two person box style cribbage board was created of dark walnut and measured in at 18 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 2 1/2 inches thick.  Inside the bottom section I created storage pockets for stowing the custom pegs and cards along with a personal lasered quote.

This awesome cribbage board is now on its way to its new home in time for their big day. Best of wishes and 29's to this lucky couple.

Final coatings are done and the wax has dried and buffed.

Final coatings are done and the wax has dried also on the bottom section.

What greater thing is there for two human souls,
than to feel they are joined for life.
Inside storage for pegs and cards.

Finger slot on front for ease of opening box.
