Custom broadhead mounting board

This is the layout of wood for a prototype for a mounting back for mounting deer skulls.

My son Josh, who is an avid bow hunter came up with the idea. It  represents a broadhead arrow tip.

For the prototype I used a fir/larch for the light colored wood and walnut for the center. Once we work through the changes, it will most likely be made out of Oak and Walnut because of the need to support the mount..

Photo of the broadhead tip we used as an example to create this project.

The glueup and clamping of the boards to create the plaque. I used a CNC router system to create the side pieces with the cutout.

This is the plaque being shipped for comments, once deer hunting season is over.

Adjustments so far being made to the next version will be to make the center portion wider and the outside edges will be shaped down to a point to represent the blade edge.

Other photos will be posted as project proceeds.
