Custom Gummy Cherry Cribbage Board

 This three person Custom Cribbage Board is made out of Gummy Cherry.

It is around 6 inches wide x 12 inches long.  As you can see it had an awesome grain pattern once the finish was applied.

Custom Dark Walnut Cribbage Board.

 This custom board is on its way to Edina MN as another Christmas gift.

It was made out of Dark Walnut and is around 5 inches wide by 18 inches long.
The lettering was lasered in using an Epilog laser printer.

As with all of my boards there is a dovetailed track on the back to store the custom metal pegs in.

Custom Natural Cherry Pizza Peel

The finished product!

Once the oil is applied , the grain pattern really pops!

Before the food grade mineral oil was applied

It was made out of Natural Gummy Cherry and is  16 inches x 16 inches with a 8 inch long handle

Boards cut and in glue up.....

This request came from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and is now there awaiting some unsuspecting  person on Christmas morning.

Custom Walnut - Mahagany pizza peels

Here one is in glueup

I was contacted by a client who is working in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.  He wanted a couple custom pizza peels to use with his portable pizza oven.
 He chose to make out of  Walnut/Mahogany, with  one being 12.5" wide and the other one 14.5" wide each with additional 2 feet for the handle.

Wood selection was made and the process begins.

The clamps are now off and the scraping, shaping, & sanding  begins.  

These two woods should go well together and when oiled will look very nice.  Sometimes you don't know until that first coat of food grade mineral oil is applied.

 
Here is the finished products.  They really came out nice, he will have a hard time using these to cook on.

You're right.  I love them.  Almost to the point of not wanting to put food on them.  Gorgeous wood!  Thank you.
Still looking for mineral oil though.  I'll probably just order some online.

Custom Long handled Birch pizza peel

Here is the rough layout of the birch I chose for this project.
The top of the handle will have a canoe paddle end shape.

This custom pizza peel  was made for a client to give as a Christmas gift.  It is on its way to Park City, Utah to be used in a wood fired pizza oven.

It was made out of local birch and has a four foot handle on  a 12 inch  round paddle for total length of  5 feet..

 

Here we have the paddle in glue up..

Peel out of glue up and the shaping has began

Custom laser engraving

They wanted laser engraving into the handle. Because of the length, I had to figure out a way to make that work.

 So the answer we came up with was to engrave on a separate piece of contrasting birch that would fit the laser printer(18") and inlay it into the handle.

The client was pleased that it came out very well.
